Senior PCB Assembly Technician (Soldering & Electronics Assembly Specialist)

Basamad, a company specializing in the design and manufacture of advanced telecommunications and electronic systems, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior PCB Assembly Technician to join its production team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Manual Soldering: Perform precision soldering using soldering irons and hot-air rework stations on sensitive PCBs, including ultra-fine SMD components (0201 and 0402 packages) as well as through-hole components.
  • Assembly of Sensitive Components: Accurately place and solder delicate electronic components, RF connectors, and other complex assemblies.
  • Cable Assembly & Wiring: Assemble and connect coaxial cables, wire harnesses, and flat-flex cables according to manufacturing drawings while ensuring proper cable routing and workmanship.
  • PCB Cleaning: Clean assembled boards manually or using ultrasonic cleaning equipment to completely remove flux residues and contaminants from beneath components.
  • In-Process Quality Inspection: Perform meticulous visual inspections using magnifiers and microscopes after each assembly stage to identify solder bridges, cold joints, insufficient solder, or other defects.
  • Initial Functional Testing: Use basic test equipment such as multimeters and power supplies to perform preliminary electrical verification after assembly.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of continuous experience in electronic PCB assembly and production.
  • Experience in the telecommunications or medical electronics industries is considered a strong advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Thorough understanding of industry-standard soldering practices and quality requirements.
  • Proficiency in using soldering irons and hot-air rework stations with precise temperature control.
  • Familiarity with the assembly requirements of sensitive telecommunications equipment.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Key Responsibilities

RF Link Design & Analysis

  • Design, calculate, and analyze RF link budgets for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint communication systems operating under both Line-of-Sight (LOS) and Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) conditions across frequency bands ranging from HF to millimeter-wave (mmWave).

Communication Channel Modeling

  • Develop and simulate communication channel models, including:
    • AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise)
    • Rayleigh Fading
    • Rician Fading
    • Multipath Propagation Channels

  • Evaluate channel behavior using professional simulation environments.

Digital Modulation Design & Simulation

  • Design and implement digital modulation schemes including:

Channel Estimation & Equalization
